Museum Hours

Due to ongoing building renovations at the Old Town Hall building, the offices of the Naismith Museum are located off site and will only be staffed during the summer months, mid-June to mid September 2007. The Hall of Fame and other museum exhibits can still be viewed, free of charge, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The Museum will be open & staffed on Weekends, Saturday & Sunday - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, starting the weekend of 7-8 July. Donations are appreciated. Correspondence received by e-mail, fax or by telephone message will be responded to on a timely basis. The Museum is located at 14 Bridge Street in Almonte, with ample parking adjacent to the Mississippi River, in the heart of the downtown core.
 

16th. Annual Naismith 3 On 3 Basketball Festival

In partnership with the Government of Canada and local sponsors, the 16th. Annual Naismith 3 On 3 Basketball Festival with take place on Saturday 11 August 2007. Over 100 teams from rookie to 35 and over categories will compete in this very successful basketball event, the largest such event in Eastern Canada. The local Organizing Committee are busy with plans to make this years event another enjoyable sport experience for all participants. Click here for more information...

 

Hall of Fame Nominations

The next nomination period for the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame will occur in January 2008 Inductions for 2007 will take place in July 2007 in Vancouver, B.C. If you would like to nominate anyone in any of the five categories (athlete, coach, official, builder or team) please contact Canada Basketball at info@basketball.ca.

A exhibit on Jack Donohue is now a permanent feature of the Museum and can be viewed during regular hours or by special appointment.
